They are currently hiring a Kitchen Assistant for the Morning Shift (6am - 2:30pm) and Mid Shift (10am - 6pm) at their Indianapolis, IN location. Avenues Recovery Center at Indianapolis is a 144-bed detox and residential rehab facility providing drug and alcohol addiction treatment. The facility offers an evidence-based clinical program, comprehensive medical care, and custom MAT options, consistently yielding highly effective results. Its multidisciplinary staff includes doctors, nurses, addiction specialists, counselors, and support staff who provide compassionate and dignified care. The freshly remodeled facility features a clean, bright, and modern design with warm and enjoyable details, including airy bedrooms, beautiful, open lounges, and recreational areas, all contributing to a nurturing and healing environment.

Requirements

• Any relevant experience/ training necessary to serve as professional chef
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to collaborate and work efficiently
• Comprehensive understanding of health and sanitation laws

Responsibilities

• Support head chef in all aspects of food preparation (cooking, cleaning, stocking etc.)
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and function through consistent washing and tidying
• Keep kitchen organized and stocked by replenishing all supplies when running low
• Follow all food storage policies, labeling protocol, and food safety regulations
• Collaborate with BHT team for efficient meal preparation, service, and cleanup
