About The Position

Isaiah House, a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing effective substance use disorder treatment, is seeking a committed and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team at the Shelley Center in Harrodsburg, KY. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a higher purpose while working in a supportive environment that values growth, compassion, and community impact. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing meals for clients, serving and cleanup as directed by Kitchen Manager - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas - Follow safety and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for staff and clients - Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies - Support team members in ensuring timely and efficient meal service Skills and Qualifications: - Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred - Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends - Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail - Good communication and teamwork skills - Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols - Physical ability to move and handle Kitchen Items, furniture and supplies - Positive attitude and commitment to serving others - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis Regular Full Time Employees receive benefits that include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Basic life insurance at NO COST to you 401(k) matching Paid holidays The joy and satisfaction of working for a company with a higher purpose! The following shifts are available: Friday- Sunday 5am-6pm Requirements Qualifications: Food Handler’s Permit preferred, but not required High school diploma or GED required; candidates currently enrolled in GED/adult education classes will be considered with the expectation of completion within an approved timeframe Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a high-demand role Salary Description $14 / hour
