About The Position

As the Kitchen Assistant Manager at The City Forum , you’ll lead the kitchen team through high-energy service with precision, positivity, and purpose. You’ll keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, from food prep and cleanliness to team motivation and inventory control. Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a kitchen leadership or supervisory role in a Scratch Kitchen, High Volume Restaurant
  • Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and kitchen operations
  • Confidence with POS systems, ordering platforms, and scheduling tools
  • A valid ABC card (or ability to get one)
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Problem-solving skills and a cool head under pressure
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Accountability, adaptability, and a growth mindset
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and hustle in a dynamic kitchen setting

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate FOH/ BOH team members during your shift
  • Oversee food prep, sanitation, and execution to meet quality standards
  • Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and support team productivity
  • Ensure BOH/FOH communication is clear and smooth
  • Manage inventory and place orders to avoid shortages or waste
  • Enforce safety and health standards in compliance with regulations
  • Partner with leadership on scheduling, cost control, and team development
  • Train new hires and deliver feedback when performance falls short
  • Complete shift reports and pass along operational updates
