About The Position

Under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, the Kitchen Aide will assist in
food preparation, serving and clean up for daily meals for shelter guests. This
includes three meals a day as well as food storage, food inventory and meal
reporting for statistics and billing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 18 years of age (required)
• Experience with disadvantaged populations, whether through work, volunteering, or being a member of a disadvantaged population (required)
• Trained or receiving training on informal mental health/ substance abuse evaluation
• Have a ServSafe food handling certificate or be able to obtain within first thirty days of employment (company provided)
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple duties
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
• Ability to communicate effectively and accurately
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in nutritional needs of homeless populations
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist with food storage, food preparation, cooking and serving daily meals for shelter clients
• Prepare and clean kitchen areas daily for service and inspections
• Coordinate and supervise the kitchen volunteers
• Coordinate and work with other kitchen staff in ordering and inventorying food supplies
• Other related duties as required
