About The Position

This posting will fill multiple Kinesiologist/Functional Movement positions. Work Location, Schedule, and Travel Requirements Positions will be located throughout Georgia. This position will require a mix of both office and field work. Hybrid work schedule (both in-office and telecommute); currently four (4) days in-office/in-the-field and one (1) day telecommute (subject to future adjustment). This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to 50%) and the ability to work successfully in a remote/virtual environment, directly from customer locations, and from GPC HQ as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in performing ergonomics; functional movement, athletic training, or movement analysis, job functions.
  • Previous experience delivering presentations to large group audiences (50 or more attendees) is required.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-driven, and capable of working independently with limited or no supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into practical workplace solutions.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Products (Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Formal education in any of the following is preferred for this position: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics preferred
  • Professional Certification through Board of Certification in Ergonomics (CPE, CHFP) preferred
  • Professional Certification through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP) preferred
  • Professional Certification through National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS, CSPS) preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in the field of athletic trainers, exercise physiologist, fitness instructor, or ergonomist are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with utility or similar industry focusing on functional movement is preferred.
  • Experience in writing ergonomic and/or functional movement program material is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ergonomic and functional movement assessments for job tasks across diverse work environments (Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and corporate settings)
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations for task redesign, movement optimization, and employee training.
  • Analyze job tasks requiring awkward posture, lifting techniques, repetitive motions, and physical demands to identify risk factors contributing to musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on proper body mechanics, movement efficiency, and injury prevention.
  • Serve as a technical expert and coach to all employees on safe movement practices and functional conditioning.
  • Support onboarding and refresher training related to functional movement and ergonomics.
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene and Corporate Communication teams to develop educational materials, videos, and workshops promoting functional movement principles.
  • Assist in creating metrics and evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness and injury reduction outcomes.
  • Stay current with emerging research, technologies, and best practices in occupational health, kinesiology, and movement science.
  • Provide consultation for incident investigations involving musculoskeletal injuries.
