Requirements

  • College coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field with experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children ages 4–5 in licensed group settings
  • At least 1 year of leadership or supervision experience
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certifications (or ability to obtain before camp begins)
  • Must Possess or have the ability to obtain before camp begins, DCYF and MERIT requirements including portable background check
  • Ability to maintain safety standards and YMCA policies
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to YMCA core values: honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • Previous YMCA camp leadership experience
  • Experience supporting children with diverse developmental or learning needs
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
