The YMCA is currently seeking enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated candidates for the following position: Kid's Gym Attendant HOURS: This is a part-time position. We are currently looking for staff with weekday availability between 7:45am - 12:00pm, or 3:45pm - 8:00pm. GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Membership and/or Youth & Family Director the position supervises groups of children and implements YMCA activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current CPR, AED, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen Certifications (required)

Responsibilities

  • Leads and participates in group activities and performs related skills with children ages 3 months to 7 years old. (i.e., painting, coloring, reading, and motor skills activities).
  • Follows specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures. (i.e., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies).
  • Implements program activities and special events.
  • Promotes and embraces Character Development in curriculum.
  • Serves as a positive role model for program participants.
  • Builds and maintains a high standard of member service for all program participants.
  • Promotes safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts.
  • Builds and maintains a high standard of member service with all members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
