About The Position

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for part-time Kid Zone Staff positions. The Kid Zone Staff will help support an engaging and well supervised setting for all participants while promoting atmosphere where every child feels included and supported. Location: Mission Viejo Work Schedule: Please see the below shifts that are available: Monday to Saturday 8:15am - 11:45am Monday to Thursday 4:15pm - 7:45pm Friday 4:45pm-9:00pm (every other week) Purpose and Impact: Be a Mentor: Build supportive, positive relationships with children and families, model YMCA values, and encourage growth, confidence, and belonging. Prioritize Safety: Maintain a healthy, secure environment through active supervision, safety checks, and proper response to incidents and emergencies. Inspire Positive Engagement: Lead developmentally appropriate activities, follow daily schedules, and promote positive behavior that enriches each child’s visit. Build Positive Connections: Provide welcoming, responsive service to families, encourage participation in Y programs, and contribute to a professional, collaborative team culture. Job description will be provided during interview.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16 years with valid work permit.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2 years work experience with children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old.
  • Experience in customer service preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
