About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager, Key Account in the United States. This role is responsible for managing and growing strategic accounts within the clinical diagnostics and proficiency testing (PT) space. The Manager, Key Account will serve as the primary point of contact for key customers and reference laboratories, driving sales growth, expanding market share, and strengthening long-term relationships. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, customer service, and operations to ensure seamless execution and high customer satisfaction. The position requires strong business acumen, understanding of molecular diagnostics and clinical laboratory operations, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder accounts. You will monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities while representing the organization at industry events. This role offers significant global exposure, with up to 50% international travel, and a chance to make a measurable impact on company growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Medical Technology, Business, or related field; advanced degree (MS, MBA, MLS/CLS) preferred
  • 5-7 years of account management or sales experience in IVD, diagnostic, clinical laboratory, or life sciences industry
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder accounts with $2M+ revenue responsibility
  • Experience with PT programs (CAP, API, state programs) and strategic reference laboratories (e.g., Quest, LabCorp) preferred
  • Knowledge of molecular diagnostics, quality control testing, and clinical laboratory operations
  • Familiarity with PCR, qPCR, NGS, serological assays, antigen testing platforms, and CLIA/CAP regulations
  • Strong communication skills, business acumen, and ability to excel under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for key PT programs and strategic reference laboratory accounts
  • Drive sales growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities in hospitals, laboratories, and reference facilities
  • Develop and execute account-specific strategies to retain and expand relationships with existing customers
  • Manage key partnerships, ensuring alignment with sales goals, pricing strategies, and product positioning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality service and support for customers
  • Provide customer insights to guide product enhancements and new product development
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities within the PT and diagnostics space
  • Prepare detailed account reports, forecasts, and updates for senior leadership
  • Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings
