The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Finance and Operations (OFO) in Frankfort (Franklin County) has an opening for a KBE/KDE Education Academic Program Manager. Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting of administrative regulations based on policy research, applicable law, and agency policy positions.
  • Coordinate with OFO’s associate commissioner, policy advisor, the Office of Legal Services (OLS) to interpret statutes, regulations, and policies applicable to the administration of department programs.
  • Provide timely and effective communication with OFO leadership and staff.
  • Assist the Office of Finance and Operations with the preparation of materials and information for the Kentucky Board of Education, the department and other assigned events.
  • Provide timely research and tracking of state and federal laws and legislation. Provide bill reviews for OFO, including analyzing how proposed legislation will impact KDE and school district finance and operations.
  • Assist with the implementation of enacted legislation across the agency and for school districts.
  • As directed, provide thorough and timely technical assistance to OFO and school districts related to new or existing statutes and administrative regulations.
  • As directed, represent KDE and/or the Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) at conferences, meetings, legislative hearings, and other public forums that relate to the work of the agency.
  • Perform special projects assigned by the OFO Associate Commissioner or Commissioner of Education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
