About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and engaging K–8 Music Teacher to inspire students through music education and performance. This position involves teaching general music, vocal instruction, and age-appropriate music theory while contributing to a positive, collaborative school culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (preferred)
  • Teaching certification or eligibility preferred
  • Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school music
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse abilities and learning styles
  • Proficiency in vocal instruction; instrumental experience is a plus
  • Commitment to professional growth and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Provide music instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade
  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate music lessons aligned with curriculum standards
  • Teach foundational music skills including rhythm, melody, harmony, vocal technique, and music appreciation
  • Plan and lead student performances, concerts, chapel programs, and school events as applicable
  • Integrate music with other subject areas when appropriate
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Maintain music classroom, instruments, and materials
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to support school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
