About The Position

The CPS SOARS! program is a four week summer learning experience for current grade K-4 students with demonstrated academic need. Each classroom will have one teacher, one paraprofessional, and up to 15 students during instructional time. Each classroom will have up to two paraprofessionals during enrichment time. The CPS SOARS! paraprofessional, under the direction of the CPS SOARS! Principal, will be responsible for: -Collaborating with the classroom teacher to provide a fun, safe, theme-based summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all students; -Supporting literacy and math instruction with teacher guidance using district provided curriculum (LitCamp) and intervention materials; -Supporting classroom set-up, clean up, and maintaining the classroom environment; -Supporting enrichment activities -Facilitating food service delivery and pick up; -Monitoring and supporting students during lunch, recess, and drop-off/pick-up; -Supporting students during local field trips and special events; and Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• CPS SOARS! paraprofessionals must have the ability to support students with a range of learning needs in multi-age classrooms.

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree or higher
• Experience working with children in urban environments
• Priority will be given to regularly appointed paraprofessionals from Cambridge Public School District.
