About The Position

Woodstock Union High School is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and student-centered individual to serve as the JV Boys Soccer Coach for the upcoming fall season. This position plays a vital role in developing student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and love for the game while supporting the overall philosophy of the school’s athletic program.

Requirements

• Prior coaching experience at the youth or high school level
• Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques
• Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to sportsmanship, character development, and educational athletics
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must meet all school and district employment requirements, including background check

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategy
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment
• Support the development of players for progression to the varsity level
• Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure program alignment and continuity
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team events
• Promote academic success and personal growth among team members
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA) policies
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration
