The Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center (FPJDC) is seeking motivated, positive individuals for a full-time, entry-level role crucial for public safety. This position involves a dynamic 12-hour rotating shift schedule, allowing for 3-4 workdays per week and every other weekend off, totaling approximately six months off-duty per year. The starting hourly pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.30. While backgrounds in education, youth mentorship, psychology, criminal justice, counseling, and social work are welcomed, no prior experience is required as all necessary training is provided. FPJDC, located in Covington, LA, is a nationally recognized, award-winning agency providing high-quality, secure care to juveniles in residential detention across several parishes. The center is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, prohibiting discrimination based on various protected characteristics. Due to the nature of the role within the criminal justice system and working with at-risk youth, direct care applicants must successfully complete a series of pre-employment requirements, including a Physical Fitness Exam, Diana Screen, criminal background check, reference checks, Child Abuse Network Screen, drug test, and a physical health screen.
