About The Position

Clay County is accepting applications to be considered for two open positions as a Full-Time Juvenile Detention Worker in the non-secure unit with the West Central Regional Juvenile Center. One position will need to be filled by a female and the second position can be either male or female. Date Poste d: 1/5/2026 Application Deadline: 1/12/2026 at 4:00 PM Status: Non-exempt | Shifts are overnights, rotating weekends and rotating holidays Starting salary is $26.50 per hour| Full Salary Range for the position is $26.50-$36.91 per hour. This position will also be eligible for Clay County’s benefit package, along with opportunities for career development and personal growth. Requirements

• One-year certificate from college or a technical school or (60 credits or more)
• 3-6 months experience working with at-risk population.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be currently employed with the West Central Regional Juvenile Center
• Must successfully complete a background investigation
• Clay County Application must be submitted for all County positions.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and ensures the safety and security of clients.
• Assists in the supervision of mandated programming for residents
• Complete intakes of all new admits into the juvenile center.
• Performs safety inspections at night.
• Attend staff trainings.
• Perform custodial functions including building safety and security.
