Juvenile Counselor II

About The Position

The Department of Juvenile Services is looking for our next Bilingual Juvenile Counselor II to lead our department to new levels of service to our youth and community. All candidates with Spanish/English bilingual skills are invited to apply. Breaking The Cycle (BTC) is a specialized unit within the Juvenile Department that concentrates primarily on working with youth who have engaged in illegal sexualized offenses and behaviors. There are no transfer periods and no change in probation officers as exercised in other units. This unit receives each case assignment from the supervisor who receives the charging packet directly from the District Attorney's Office. Often, these cases are complicated due to the sexual nature of the allegations of the youth and impact to the victims. BTC contracts with specialized providers who deliver intensive, intrusive, and lengthy services to include sex offense specific treatment and polygraph preparation. This includes working hand in hand with the Juvenile Counselor as a team and as team supervision for the youth being served.
