About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) located in Richmond, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Justice Program Administrator within the Staff Services and Planning Section, supporting the Commissioner’s Office. This position plays a key role in advancing agency operations through collaboration with executive leadership, training staff, and external client agencies. The Justice Program Administrator provides administrative, analytical, and programmatic support for departmental initiatives, including the national accreditation program, policy management processes, agency data analysis, and program evaluation activities for the Law Enforcement Basic Training Academy, Public Safety Dispatch Academy, Court Security Officer Training, and In-Service Training programs. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to analyze and present data to inform executive decision-making.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or a related field.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Knowledge of accreditation standards, compliance processes, and policy management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Requests, collects, edits, and analyzes agency national accreditation program and other agency research data, writes comprehensive reports for executive and managerial superiors.
  • Organizes, attends, and participates in agency accreditation program and policy implementation meetings with agency personnel and executive leadership.
  • Coordinates activities of agency support staff and, or, service providers engaged in the implementation and administration of the agency's national accreditation program and policy objectives.
  • Provides recommendations for program enhancements based on findings and statistical evaluations.
  • Researches, develops, implements, and interprets policies and procedures related to agency programs;
  • Identifies major policy issues requiring administrative and executive resolution.
  • Serves as liaison with management and staff to facilitate the administration and review of agency programs, policies, and procedures; manages PowerDMS program for accreditation and policy review and approval process.
  • Designs, deploys and manages survey tools to collect data on training effectiveness; conducts studies and complies statistical data and technical reports to assist leadership in identifying trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyzes data and prepares detailed reports for the Administration and Training Operations Divisions and Executive Leadership.
  • Responds to agency accreditation, policy, and statistical inquiries from the general public, governmental officials, or agency executives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
