Junior Water/Wastewater Engineer
About The Position
NV5 is seeking a passionate Junior Engineer for our California Water/Wastewater Practice, which focuses on the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, contributing to the betterment of communities and the environment. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis or concentration in water/wastewater
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Basic understanding or familiarity with AutoCAD
- Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks
- Passionate about water/wastewater
- Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer license
Nice To Haves
- Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Work within a team of highly experienced and creative engineers to problem solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.
- Assist with the planning and design of challenging drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including:
- Assist project engineers with other project tasks, such as:
- Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering.
- Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem solve issues.
