Thank you for your interest in becoming a Junior Volunteer at Kern Medical Center! Your service is greatly appreciated by our staff, patients, and their families. The program’s primary goal is to teach the value of community service in a healthcare setting. Junior responsibilities include working in the information desk and assisting in various departments and clinics. Dependability, maturity, honesty and professionalism are important qualities we look for in a Junior Volunteer. Please understand that we have a limited number of volunteer opportunities and we cannot guarantee every applicant a spot. Job responsibilities and positions will be discussed during the volunteer interview. Your first uniform is free, and a $5.00 membership fee is due at orientation. You are required to wear white or navy-blue pants or scrubs with rubber-sole shoes. No shorts, jeans or open toed shoes are allowed on volunteer shifts. This program will offer you the opportunity to become acquainted with the many career possibilities in healthcare, to learn the essentials of commitment and responsibility, and to serve others in a meaningful way.
