About The Position

The Junior VMS (Vagaro Merchant Services) Sales Representative supports revenue growth by promoting Vagaro’s integrated payment processing solutions to new and existing clients. This role focuses on introducing businesses to Vagaro Merchant Services, identifying opportunities to improve payment efficiency, and assisting in closing new merchant accounts. This is an entry-level sales position designed for individuals looking to build a career in SaaS and payments sales. The Junior VMS Sales Representative works closely with senior sales team members to develop pipeline, qualify opportunities, and drive adoption of Vagaro’s merchant processing solutions. This role is based onsite in Pleasanton, CA Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, retail banking, financial services, or customer-facing roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to build a career in payments or SaaS sales.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to merchant services, payment processing, or fintech environments.
  • Experience in outbound prospecting or quota-driven roles.
  • Understanding of interchange, processing fees, or payment hardware is a plus (not required for junior level).

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, follow-up on inbound leads, and proactive outreach to existing Vagaro clients.
  • Educate prospective and current customers on the benefits of Vagaro Merchant Services, including integrated payment processing, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Assist in conducting product demonstrations and pricing discussions under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipeline updates, and client interactions in Salesforce.
  • Support preparation of merchant applications, documentation, and onboarding coordination.
  • Follow up consistently to move opportunities through the sales cycle and meet monthly activity metrics.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of payment processing, merchant services, compliance basics, and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Support, Risk, and Underwriting teams to ensure smooth merchant onboarding.
  • Meet or exceed assigned activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
