The Opportunity Are you a creative storyteller who thrives at the intersection of video and performing arts? Primary Function CAPA is seeking a Junior Videographer to join our Marketing team and help bring Columbus most iconic theatres and live entertainment experiences to life. This role is ideal for an early-career creative professional who is eager to learn, collaborate, and build a diverse portfolio in a dynamic, mission-driven arts organization. You will support the creation of compelling visual content via digital, social, and video platformscontributing to campaigns that engage audiences, support ticket sales, and advance CAPAs brand and community impact. Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Performance Objectives Videography & Photography Assist with the planning, filming, and editing of video content for promotional, social media, archival, and internal communication purposes. Capture high-quality photo and video content that aligns with CAPA brand standards and creative direction. Edit raw footage into polished final products, including color correction, sound editing, graphics, transitions, and music. Support the organization and maintenance of video and photo archives. Assist with studio and on-location production setups; ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds. Create visually engaging designs for digital content, including email graphics, and social media assets. Assist in the execution and maintenance of consistent branding across multiple CAPA venues, programs, and internal stakeholders. Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams. Collaboration & Support Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Ticketing, Development, and other departments to support creative needs. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to campaigns and projects. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices. Provide general creative support as needed for marketing initiatives and special projects. KPIs: 0 6 Months: Familiarization with the CAPA culture, department processes & procedures, assisting Multimedia Director on all related shoots and Digital Marketing Manager with assistance 6 12 Months: Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize and execute creative projects with limited supervision. Strong internal and external stakeholder feedback. 12 Months & Beyond: Autonomously manage photo and video shoots, provide creative input based on creative briefs, meet with internal clients, identify additional areas of growth and development based on experience. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of video production fundamentals, including filming, lighting, and audio.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of design principles and typography.
  • Familiarity with post-production workflows such as color grading and sound editing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A portfolio demonstrating proficiency in video work.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend and kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Bachelors degree in Film/Video Production, Multimedia Design or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically, 0-2 years of professional or academic experience working in video production (internships and relative coursework considered) to perform this role.
  • Successful background check.
  • This position requires occasional presence on-site during nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with motion graphics or animation
  • Familiarity with web design and/or UI/UX principles
  • Experience using DSLR cameras and related video equipment
  • Interest in or background within the performing arts or nonprofit sector
