About The Position

ASRC Federal Technology Solutions is seeking a Junior Trainer to support the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) located in Alexandria, VA. This role involves conducting user training courses with a primary focus on automation tool training and assistance. The trainer will be responsible for organizing training classes, managing a library of digital materials, and assisting with scheduling and conducting virtual training via Microsoft Teams. They will also facilitate training team meetings and provide training on major automation tools used at the USPTO, which may occur in formal or informal settings including classroom training, presentations, demonstrations, one-on-one assistance, and hotline support. The position requires assisting with modifications or customization of existing training materials and ensuring all training materials and equipment are functional for formal sessions. The Junior Trainer may also be asked to test new products from a user's viewpoint and provide input to clarify training requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (education requirement may be waived for four (4) years of relevant experience in education/training).
  • Two years of experience providing training, preferably in an adult learning setting.
  • Must be able to work in a demanding production-oriented position.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Successful completion of a well-developed training course on four major proprietary systems to meet internal certification requirements within 4 months of receiving equipment.
  • Permanent Residency or US Citizenship is required for the federal government background investigation.

  • Preferred major in education, training or related field.
  • Some advanced skills using MS Access and Excel.
