About the Role We are looking for a motivated Junior Test Engineer to support brake system testing and validation activities for Client programs. The ideal candidate may come from a brake shop, automotive service, lab, or metrology background and have a strong interest in vehicle braking systems.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field OR brake shop / technician experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Hands‑on experience with brake components (rotors, pads, calipers, hydraulics).
  • Basic understanding of measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches).
  • Interest in lab testing environments and engineering validation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with brake benches, dynamometers, or automotive test labs.
  • Exposure to metrology, instrumentation, or DAQ systems.
  • Understanding of braking fundamentals (friction, heat, pedal feel, torque generation).
  • Any experience with vehicle dynamics or NVH is a plus.
  • Curious, hands‑on, and eager to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Good teamwork and communication with engineers, technicians, and lab staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting brake performance, durability, and wear tests on dynamometers or test benches.
  • Support setup and tear‑down of brake components (rotors, pads, calipers, hydraulic lines).
  • Perform basic diagnostics and inspections before and after tests.
  • Install and verify sensors such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, wheel‑speed sensors, torque cells, and linear displacement sensors.
  • Perform basic calibration steps and ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Operate data acquisition systems and assist with test stand troubleshooting.
  • Maintain lab equipment, brake rigs, environmental chambers, and measurement tools.
  • Follow lab safety procedures and 5S standards.
  • Prepare test samples and support component measurements (micrometers, calipers, precision gauges).
  • Record test conditions and results; validate data quality.
  • Support data plotting and basic analysis (Excel, MATLAB, or similar tools).
  • Prepare draft test reports and summaries for review by senior engineers.
