About The Position

As a Junior Systems Engineer, you'll support the design, integration, and evaluation of complex systems that power the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal Agencies. Working alongside experienced engineers and government stakeholders, you'll help ensure the timely delivery of accurate and reliable GEOINT capabilities. This role offers hands-on experience in a mission-critical environment supporting national security and intelligence operations. You'll collaborate with industry experts, gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and build a strong foundation in systems engineering within the GEOINT community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as: Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.
  • +4 years with no degree, or +2 years with a non-STEM degree.
  • 0-6 years of experience in Systems Engineering within government or industry.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance, or
  • Eligibility to obtain SCI and successfully pass a polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and languages.
  • Understanding of Software Development Frameworks and life cycle processes.
  • Knowledge of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) principles and applications.
  • Prior experience supporting NGA, NSG, or ASG programs/projects.
  • Experience on programs within the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD).

Responsibilities

  • Support mid-level engineers and government teams in requirements engineering, solutions design, integration, testing, and system analysis.
  • Assist in the planning, traceability, and analysis of user and system requirements, ensuring alignment with mission needs and technical architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of solutions and designs based on emerging technologies and system requirements.
  • Help translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements.
  • Support the allocation of requirements to system architecture components and programs.
  • Participate in systems integration and evaluation activities across NSG and ASG environments.
  • Assist with Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Trade Studies, Course of Action (CoA) development, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Contribute to strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design activities.
