About The Position

The Junior Survey Party Chief will work under the direction of sr survey leadership to delegate and coordinate field crew member activity, ensuring successful completion of quality client deliverables.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of land surveying experience (topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTAs, as-builts, construction stakeouts, etc.).
  • Experience operating and maintaining survey equipment such as Total Station, Leica, Trimble, TopCon, GPS.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience as an instrument operator/land surveyor or field survey crew chief.
  • Ability to work in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate effectively with survey leadership and survey office members to meet client deadlines.
  • Manage day-to-day oversight of survey schedule and deliverable progress.
  • Lead the efforts of the field crew by providing daily information from the Assistant Field Survey Program Manager.
  • Offer direction and guidance to the field crew regarding project schedules and daily task status.
  • Gather information from field crews to efficiently complete project deliverables on time.
  • Inspect each job site for safety hazards and ensure placement of protective equipment following all safety protocols.
  • Lead field survey crews and perform technical field efforts.
  • Make trigonometric calculations, such as traverses and calculation of coordinates, control points, quantities, and areas.
  • Research existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents.
  • Assist in completion of all surveys and ensure accurate and detailed daily upload and download of data, pictures, and field notes.
  • Maintain proficiency in all survey equipment.
