About The Position

Serco supports the US Army as a prime for their PPB BOS contract maintaining their financial management application. Our team upgrades, maintains and manages the software that runs the Army’s cloud based financial systems to allow them to perform their missions successfully. You will be part of a small team of programmers that works closely with the customer and other application teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the Army for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. In this role, you will: Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle Write well designed, testable, and efficient code Code, design, and implement Java and APEX solutions for the Army Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, debugging activities and maintenance Develop technical designs for application development and recommend changes to improve established application processes

Requirements

  • An active Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT or another STEM field
  • 1 year of Java and/or APEX programming experience
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • The ability to report on-site at our Herndon, VA office.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts
  • Experience in programming for military systems
  • Experience in consulting directly with customers.
