Job Title: Sr. Assoc, Software Engineering Job Code: 29986 Job Location: Rochester, NY (Onsite) Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Job Description: L3Harris is seeking an experienced and highly motivated embedded software engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development and experience with C++, object-oriented design, and RTOS. This position involves design, implementation, verification and troubleshoot of real-time embedded software. In this role, you will: Work closely with an Agile team of experienced software engineers on projects that involve the development and analysis of real time Embedded SW system. Have the opportunity to learn the latest advancements in SW defined communication systems

Requirements

  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems design.
  • Development experience with the Linux OS
  • Proficiency with C++ and C programming languages
  • Proficiency with multi-threaded, multi-core, and real-time operating systems
  • Experience with object-oriented software development.
  • Understanding of Design, Implementation, Integration and Testing of large software systems
  • Experience with embedded software emulators/debuggers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team including hardware, software, and systems engineers.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 - 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in Embedded Software or DSP.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience optimizing software for performance, power consumption, and memory usage on various hardware platforms.
  • Experience using test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Experience with radio communications including waveforms, modulations, coding schemes and digital signaling.
  • Experience with communications security (COMSEC) and transmission security (TRANSEC) concepts and algorithms.
  • Experience with software development using artificial intelligence.
