Junior Software Engineer Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated Software Engineer Intern for a 6-month internship. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and curious engineer eager to learn and grow by contributing to the development and deployment of real-world manufacturing and business web applications. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will work closely with senior developers and cross-functional teams to build, maintain, and optimize web solutions that enhance internal operations and customer-facing platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about coding, demonstrates initiative through personal projects or a GitHub portfolio, and enjoys learning modern frameworks and tools. This hybrid position requires in-office presence 1–3 times per week (schedule may vary).
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Laravel, Python, JavaScript, and SQL
- Basic experience building web applications (academic, personal, or internship projects count)
- Familiarity with WordPress or Joomla CMS platforms
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and modern web development principles
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn from feedback
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and Tailwind or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools
- Exposure to version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Experience connecting web apps to relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain web applications using Laravel (PHP), Python, and JavaScript.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and database schemas to support application functionality.
- Assist in integrating third-party APIs and internal services.
- Support front-end development with responsive UI components and data-driven features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and document code to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Participate in version control workflows using Git and contribute to code reviews.
- Maintain and update WordPress and Joomla-based sites as needed.
