About The Position

The Jr. Security Administrative Specialist will provide administrative and security management assistance to the AFRL SSO division.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ related work experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed.
  • Ability to obtain the SFPC certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline they are performing.
  • Ability to work independently or monitored by senior employees to ensure compliance with proper procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy
  • Ability to maintain good working USG relationships.
  • Ability to use Microsoft (MS) Office Applications (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype, Teams, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Zoom, and applications for access to the World Wide Web (WWW) including MS Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, and Firefox.
  • Possess basic understanding and be familiar with G-suite and other common, cloud-based services.
  • Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance within the USG-assigned facilities and in virtual meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Integrated Product Teams with security management, Information Protection, Anti-Terrorism/Fore Protection by analyzing problems, defining alternative solutions, providing recommendations, writing reports, and accomplishing specifically assigned work as defined in individual TOs or programs.
  • Assist in maintaining secure facilities and respond appropriately to alarms of the Government facilities IAW Air Force requirements and AFRL operating instructions.
  • Receive and secure classified information and conduct independent security studies and analyses as required.
  • Assist the Chief of Security to ensure security program requirements are integrated into all program areas as required by Department of Defense (DOD), United States Air Force (USAF), and Major Command policies.
  • Provide support as a technical security advisor to internal and external entities on matters affecting overall protection architecture.
  • Provide security oversight and management activities for all aspects of information, personnel, industrial, physical, and operations security.
  • Understand, communicate, coordinate, prioritize, file maintenance, database management, and report and presentation development for diverse audiences.
  • Communicate and interact professionally at all times to preserve USG relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
