About The Position

Under the supervision of the Buildings Supervisor of School Facilities & Energy Conservation management and under the direct supervision of an employee of higher grade performs custodial duties such as clean all reachable walls and HVAC diffusers and ceiling fans and all reachable window glass inside and outside schools, doors, etc.; complete cleaning of all walls and fixtures; clean all stairwells; shampoo all carpets; sweep, wash, strip, wax and buff all floors; dust; change light bulbs; police grounds; sweep walks; cut lawns; remove snow and ice; care for custodial equipment; empty wastebaskets; remove trash; order custodial supplies; make minor repairs to buildings, equipment, heating, lighting, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing systems. Perform other similar duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Must have physical ability to do the work.
  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, driving history review, and fingerprinting
  • MA Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) clearance
  • Completion of Conflict-of-Interest Law Education training for municipal employees

  • Perform other similar duties as assigned
