On-Call, Junior Research Assistant

About The Position

We are seeking a conscientious, intrinsically motivated junior research assistant to join a unique, large-scale, grant-funded intervention project to reduce depression among California youth aged 14 to 19. This assistant will work under the direct supervision of Principal Investigator, Greg Hajcak, and an interdisciplinary team of renowned researchers, as well as the project manager. This position is ideal for a post-baccalaureate individual interested in clinical psychology, health psychology, neuroscience, and the intersection of these fields. The project has a particular focus on LGBTQ+ youth.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of research design and statistical analysis preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for participant recruitment and working with community samples and organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to self-manage schedules.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field preferred.
  • 0 to 3 years of related work experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with participant scheduling and conduct consent calls
  • Conduct consent calls with potential participants and send scheduling reminders.
  • Help disseminate information about the study to the community (e.g., recruiting).
  • Send study information to potential recruitment sources.
  • Other duties as assigned.
