THE OPPORTUNITY Silvus is seeking a full-time Junior Quality Engineer that will report to the Director of Quality. The successful individual in this role will support our StreamCaster MANET product development and manufacturing. This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles. The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

Requirements

  • Associates in related fields or technical programs with at least 1 year of inspection/repair experience.
  • Experience with utilizing inspection tools (i.e., multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).
  • Ability to read basic schematics, specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.
  • Proficient with PC and familiar with MS Office.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be highly attentive to details, and have the capacity to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment.
  • Soldering experience.
  • IPC Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acceptance testing on first article PCBs, assemblies, and components in a Linux-based environment.
  • Prepare assemblies according to established acceptance testing procedures.
  • Support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of test stations.
  • Perform rigorous stress testing on fully built assemblies to validate components.
  • Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.
  • Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
  • Read and interpret part documentation, including blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Prepare in-process inspection report, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations leadership to develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Control documentation.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to identify, investigate, and document any inconsistent or abnormal test results.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
