About The Position

As a Junior QA Engineer at Sprocket Security, your mission will be to support and contribute to ensuring our software products are high quality, reliable, and meet customer needs. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be crucial in identifying and resolving defects, thus ensuring the stability and performance of our software. You will work closely with our founding QA engineer and development teams to execute both manual and automated testing, helping identify defects early and ensure stable releases. Your attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn will be key as you grow your testing skills and contribute to delivering secure, reliable solutions in the cybersecurity landscape.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years experience in a QA or testing role with exposure to both manual and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g. regression, functional, smoke, exploratory).
  • Experience writing and executing structured manual test cases.
  • Experience documenting bugs with clear reproduction steps and expected vs actual outcomes.
  • Familiarity with running automated test suites and reviewing test results.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Basic understanding of scripting or automation concepts (e.g. JavaScript or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with performance and load testing tools.
  • Basic experience maintaining or updating existing automated tests.
  • Basic understanding of API concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Interest in or exposure to security testing concepts.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and automated testing activities for our software products, including end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements and design test strategies.
  • Perform regression testing and ensure the stability of the software after changes.
  • Analyze test results and escalate issues or risks with guidance from senior QA team members.
  • Support the execution of existing automated test suites, review results, and flag failures for investigation.
  • Generating reports and dashboards to provide insights on testing progress, coverage, overall quality metrics, enabling data-driven decisions to enhance the product.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Adding tickets for bugs.
  • Updating existing tickets.
