About The Position

AMT is seeking a Junior Project Accountant to assume a key role within the Accounting department at our Rockville, MD office. This is a Hybrid position with the ability to work remotely several days per week after a probationary period. The Qualified candidate will have independent judgment and initiative while working within established policy/procedural guidelines and ensure that all financial deadlines regarding billing are met for month-end closes. The position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized individual with the ability to multi-task and demonstrate success with accurate processing of billing.

Requirements

1-2 years of billing experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Candidate should be well organized, detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines and respond to change in priorities.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and meeting internal/external deadlines
Able to effectively work in a client focused team environment, building a spirit of cooperation, and sharing knowledge and skills with others in the group
Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the Project Manager, Billing Manager or Accounting Manager, as necessary

Nice To Haves

Experience in A/E/C or DOT preferred.
Deltek Vision or VantagePoint experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Review client contracts to ensure billing terms are accurately reflected and monthly billings are prepared in accordance with contractual requirements.
Prepare and distribute monthly billing reports for Project Managers.
Process, post, print, and distribute client invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain and update project setup, billing schedules, and related records within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
