About The Position

The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in various Community Center programs. Works with the Summer Lunch Bunch Coordinator to conduct The Salvation Army’s Summer Lunch Bunch Program, oversees planning and logistics involved in the provision of served food.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with adults and children.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment of program participants and volunteers.
  • Assist in the provision of served food.
  • Receive food from cooked meal service vendor and bring to correct temperature, assemble items.
  • Ensure meals are delivered to sites during approved mealtimes and served according to Health Department and USDA Food Service standards.
  • Re-package leftover food for distribution to clients according to ServSafe standards.
  • Represents The Salvation Army well and makes every effort to improve the reputation and further emphasize the presence of our organization in the community
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and coordinating additional program enhancement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
