Position Summary: The Junior Packaging Designer supports senior designers in creating retail-ready packaging through design execution, mockups, and revisions. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and is ideal for a detail-oriented designer eager to learn and grow.

Requirements

  • Internship or entry-level experience at an in-house creative team or design agency preferred.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Basic understanding of how typography, imagery, color, and layout work together in design.
  • Familiarity with print-ready files, dielines, and templates is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in illustration or 3D rendering software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of packaging materials and print production processes.
  • Ability to generate and communicate ideas visually through sketches, comps, or simple renderings.
  • Familiarity with the Pantone color system.
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support senior designers and development teams in creating retail-ready packaging for a variety of brands.
  • Assist with design execution across packaging collections, including layouts, graphics, and visual refinements.
  • Research packaging trends, materials, and sustainability initiatives to help inform design concepts.
  • Create mockups, comps, and basic renderings to help visualize packaging ideas.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh, thoughtful ideas within a collaborative team environment.
  • Learn and apply brand guidelines (when necessary) to ensure consistency across seasonal and evergreen packaging collections.
  • Help maintain organized working files, ensuring assets, links, and versions are clearly labeled and easy to locate.
  • Assist in developing packaging concepts with consideration for brand tone, market trends, and price points.
  • Support exploration of new packaging materials, structures, and production techniques under senior guidance.
  • Incorporate feedback from senior designers, developers, and stakeholders, making revisions as needed.
