Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the district-wide network, and configuring and managing network devices, including wireless Voice over IP (VoIP) systems. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Deploy, maintain, and manage network monitoring software to track LAN performance, including baseline metrics, error rates, congestion, and overall efficiency. Analyze collected data, prepare network status reports, and collaborate with the Network Engineer to implement infrastructure design improvements. Monitor network performance using diagnostic tools to identify errors and service disruptions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues through diagnostics and analysis, escalating complex problems to the appropriate technical contact. Notify affected departments of outages and generate clear, concise reports documenting network errors and service interruptions. Configure network devices to implement design specifications and maintain consistency across subsystems such as routing, VLANs, and LANs. Ensure all configurations follow security best practices and compliance standards. Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze user activity and resource utilization. Prepare detailed reports to support capacity planning and future network expansion.
