About The Position

The Junior Mold Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and planning for ensuring that machines and molds stay in working order to support production. This role involves performing insert changeovers for production, conducting preventive mold maintenance, inspecting molds for defects, and planning solutions to prevent downtime. The technician is also responsible for general housekeeping, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of mold components, tools, and equipment. The position requires working independently with strong technical knowledge and effective communication skills, while adhering to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.

Requirements

Must be mechanically inclined
Strong ability to use basic hand tools
High School Diploma or equivalency required
Knowledge of plastic processing and troubleshooting
Basic math skills
Basic electrical skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
Possess good hand-eye coordination with manual dexterity
Forklift training (can be completed on the job)
Must be able to work 6am to 4:30pm

Responsibilities

Perform insert changeovers for production
Perform preventive mold maintenance as per instruction and assigned intervals
Inspect mold for defects and plan for solutions to prevent downtime
General housekeeping around the shop and maintain safe work environment
Maintain cleanliness, safety and functionality of mold components, tools and equipment
Maintain plastic injection molds and equipment is in optimal running condition
Work independently with strong technical knowledge
Communicate effectively both verbally and written
Follow all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
Other responsibilities as assigned
