About The Position

As a Manufacturing Planner, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and adjudication of ticket requests related to production schedules and workflows. This role involves processing JIRA tickets submitted by internal customers, ensuring timely resolution, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to schedule shop work and address any production-related issues. The planner will also track progress, prioritize requests, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and item delivery. Additionally, they will help streamline processes and suggest improvements to optimize production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or production planning with a strong understanding of standard manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Proficiency with JIRA or similar ticket management systems for tracking and resolving issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on maintaining accuracy while managing ticket requests and updates.
  • Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems or other software tools used for production planning and material scheduling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution and smooth operations.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a planner or expeditor.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, MRP systems (Costpoint in particular), and Jira software is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, evaluate, process, execute JIRA tickets for manufacturing or material requests.
  • Based on the details of each request and using ERP / MRP software, evaluate when each request may be satisfied.
  • Monitor and update JIRA tickets to reflect changes in priority, schedule, item availability, or request details.
  • Work closely with various manufacturing departments and support functions to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
  • Track the status of open tickets and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance production workflows and eliminate delays.
