SUMMARY Responsible for performing a variety of engineering duties related to the planning, design, support of new processes/products, improving manufacturing methods and initiating design changes for cost effectiveness. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the activities related to the support of Printed Circuit Board, Cable & Wire, and/or Final Assembly processes including analyzing & improving quality, capacity, and capability. Perform root cause analysis, process capability studies, and implement process controls to ensure process performance requirements are met and sustained. Support the execution of Design of Experiment studies. Create and maintain process and equipment documentation to support new and existing products. Provide technical support for new product launches including establishing process recipes, tooling procurement, and supporting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews. Assist new technology development with emphasis in continuous improvement and benchmarking. Capable of reading mechanical CAD drawings, 3D models, Schematics Apply verbal and written communications skills in periodic and special reports/presentations. Timely completion of small-scale projects. Learns, understands, and uses the applicable technical skills, implementations, and methodologies. Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of a more experienced engineer. Applies standard practices & techniques in specific situations, adjusts & correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows through with a series of related detailed steps or processes. Receives frequent/regular supervision - daily contact from Engineers and/or Manager Perform other duties as assigned Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associate’s Degree in an engineering field plus 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with providing technical support of automated PCBA, wire/cable, final assembly processes & equipment. Experience in assisting in execution of designed experiments (DOEs) Team support skills, project management skills, and the capability to communicate and influence others. Experience utilizing problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making tools. Strong communication & project management skills Training in Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma preferred Experience with one or more of: SMT, Wave Solder, Coating/Epoxy/Potting, Laser Marking, Sonic Welding, Cable/Wire processing is preferred Experience in equipment and process development, implementation, and support. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, reports, and documents. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple site functions and team members. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
