About The Position

R&P is looking for a general engineer, Jr-level, who wants to join our DDG-51 Systems Engineering Branch support team in support of the DDG 51 Acquisition Program Office. We are a defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. Support the DDG 51 Acquisition Program Office, providing System Engineering services. Provide engineering support across a range of systems in support of the resolution of engineering issues. The engineering team supports work in the following areas: Review design documentation including drawings, Tech Manuals, and Ship Specifications to ensure that they are in accordance with contract requirements. Revision Notices (RNs), Design Budget Engineering Team (DBETS) Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Initial Change Proposals (ICP), Pre-Initial Change Proposals (PICP), functional transition design packages and kickoff/50%/90% design review material. Perform technical reviews, recommend and coordinate responses, and maintain databases (as applicable) for Liaison Inquiries (LIs), Requests for Clarification, Information and Assistance (RCIAs), and requests for waivers/deviations, CDRLs and other technical documentation, as required. Provide engineering and administrative assistance for system reviews and technical meetings including but not limited to Aviation IPTs, Ship Program Reviews (SPR), Final Contract Trials (FCT), Technical Issues Meetings, Failure Review Boards meetings and travel. Electric Plant Design Working Groups (EPDWG), Risk Review Board, and DDG Top Technical Issues (DDG TTI).

Requirements

  • Minimum experience: 0-2 years experience on Navy platforms performing engineering work, 6 months preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or preferred experience
  • Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • DDG51 or Surface Combatant experience highly preferred
  • DDG51 or Surface Combatant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Trial Card screening/review utilizing excel as a means of tracking progress and status.
  • Provide To PMS 400D organizational and engineering expertise to support during Sea Trials for new construction DDG ship hulls.
  • Utilizing data analytics provide direction for D4 customers to assign POC’s during Pre-screening meetings for upcoming Contract Trials.
  • Support the DDG 51 Acquisition Program Office, providing System Engineering services.
  • Provide engineering support across a range of systems in support of the resolution of engineering issues.
