About The Position

Kent is looking for a Junior Instrumentation Designer to be based in Baytown, TX. You will understand instrumentation project requirements, create drafts and final designs, pitch creative ideas, collaborate with team members, and incorporate feedback to improve designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Design or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of experience as a Junior Designer or Management of Change.
  • Experience with design software (e.g. AutoCad) and PDF Editing Software.
  • Strong Organization Skills.
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts).
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company; it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and project implementation plans, drawings and diagrams of each project.
  • Apply specific knowledge, standards and norms established for each document, in order to guarantee that the requirements and needs raised by the client are met and the Projects within the deadlines defined in the Detailed Work Program and with the Quality and Compliance parameters stipulated in the Value Promise.
  • Support the General Management of Change group by organizing GMOCs as they come in, sending redline drawings to design group to be placed in AutoCAD. Coordinate with Client personnel in order to complete and close out GMOCs in a timely manner.
  • Understand project requirements and concepts.
  • Use various techniques to create drafts, models and prototypes.
  • Produce final implementation design solutions.
  • Pitch creative ideas.
  • Collaborate with team members to launch projects.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
