About The Position

As a Designer with Gensler’s team in Washington DC , your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional and beautiful spaces for our clients. You have an exceptional design sensibility , a background in i nterior architecture and i nterior d esign, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design , Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
  • 0-3 years of experience designing and delivering p rojects is preferred
  • Strong communication , presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Generate design with 3D models, Revit, Sketchup or other software, create digital 3D view to communicate design concepts
  • Generate i nterior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
  • Support coordination with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
