About The Position

As a Designer with Gensler’s team in Washington DC, your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional and beautiful spaces for our clients. You have an exceptional design sensibility, a background in interior architecture and interior design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment. What You Will Do You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment Support interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting Generate design with 3D models, Revit, Sketchup or other software, create digital 3D view to communicate design concepts Generate interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts Support coordination with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program 0-3 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm 0-3 years of experience designing and delivering projects is preferred/required Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills Proficiency in Revit Passion for design excellence and continuous learning LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices This role is not remote, we look forward to working with our new Designer team member in our Washington, D.C. office. The estimated base salary range for this position in the Washington, D.C. is $65,000- $75,000, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation is contingent on location and relevant skills, qualifications and experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited program
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
  • 0-3 years of experience designing and delivering projects is preferred/required
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred
