About The Position

Junior High Computer Science/Technology teacher: We are looking for a skilled teacher that can teach a combination of the following courses: Digital Literacy, Computer Essentials, Basic Programming/Coding, Web Development, Video Game Design, Robotics and/or Business Office Specialist. Overview: The role of the Junior High School Teacher is to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students. This position requires a proven ability to develop and maintain a safe place for learning and growth by developing and incorporating an approved, age-appropriate curriculum through effective oral and written communication skills. Attendance at scheduled staff meetings and workshops and preparation for classes is mandatory and not considered overtime. Employee student-facing work time is 7:30 am to 3:00 p.m. with 185 days during the contract period. This position reports directly to the Secondary Principal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Education or related field; or Industry Experience
  • Teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification in CTE
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to write and monitor IEP goals
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for differing ability levels
  • Integrity in keeping confidentiality regarding student data and information

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities utilizing various curriculum resources.
  • Implement technology in lessons and as part of the daily curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson materials, grade papers, manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students.
  • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
  • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  • Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events following licensing guidelines and program policies by updating and utilizing prescribed reporting vehicles
  • Attend conferences and workshops to advance professional development
  • Manage student behavior following outlined guidelines and Lincoln Academy Policies.
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and at the school.
  • Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, PLC’s and professional development.
  • Create lesson plans and modify them accordingly throughout the year.
  • Maintain current grades and post weekly updates for students and parents.
  • Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
  • Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
  • Participate in administrative observations and yearly evaluation process.
  • Participate in the overall growth mindset of Lincoln Academy by being positive and open-minded with peer groups, co-workers, operational teams, administration, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Prepare and distribute required reports to the administration team as requested and on time.
  • Utilize an effective classroom management system to actively reinforce appropriate student behaviors.
  • Be a model of ethical behavior and integrity as a member of the Lincoln Academy team.
