Junior Full Stack Software Developer
About The Position

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on modern web applications while gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle—from concept to deployment. NS2 Mission is excited to bring on a driven Junior Full Stack Software Developer to support our team in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you’ll partner closely with a Lead Engineer and cross-functional team members to design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile/Scrum environment. This position is ideal for an early-career developer who’s eager to learn, contribute, and make an impact while working across the full application stack.
Requirements
- Frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks
- React with TypeScript (or comparable frameworks such as Vue or Angular)
- Backend service development using Python (or another modern backend language)
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Experience developing, deploying, or maintaining applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum-based team environment
- Understanding of or exposure to accessibility (508) compliance standards
Nice To Haves
- Experience writing or maintaining automated tests
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native or serverless architectures
- Internship, academic, or project-based experience with full stack web applications
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers and team members to design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions
- Contribute across all layers of the application, including frontend user interfaces, backend services, and data layers
- Translate functional and business requirements into technical implementations
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support integrations with other applications and databases
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities
- Help maintain and enhance deployed applications in a cloud environment
- Support 508 compliance and accessibility testing efforts
- Assist with writing and maintaining automated tests
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and team collaboration
