About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Formulation Development Scientist to join our Research & Development team to assist in the development and optimization of personal care product formulations under the guidance of senior scientists. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a strong academic background in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a related field, and a passion for developing innovative consumer healthcare products in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly evolving environment. The successful candidate will support formulation development activities, conduct laboratory experiments, maintain accurate and complete documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to commercialization.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant industry experience preferred (internships or co-ops acceptable).
  • This position is full-time onsite.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced R&D environment to rapidly acquire project understanding and apply professional knowledge to project improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to work with and support colleagues in a cross-functional collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of formulation principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Familiarity with topical dosage forms, oral care products and/or transdermal patches is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic statistical software (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bench-scale experiments, prepare prototypes, and perform stability and compatibility testing following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Operate and maintain scientific instruments including but not limited to pH meters, viscometers, heating and mixing equipment, glass ware, microscopes, scales, sample filling equipment, sample sealing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and assist in the preparation of technical reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Work with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to support product development and scale-up activities.
  • Participate in integrating consumer insights into formulation strategies to enhance product performance and user experience.
  • Support the evaluation of new ingredients, technologies, and instrumentation for potential application in product development.
  • Ensure all work complies with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, OTC monographs, GMP, GLP).
