About The Position

Entegris is currently seeking a Formulation Scientist , Solution Design to join our ICPS R&D team. This position will be based in our Aurora facility. In this role, you will be developing leading edge CMP (Chemical M echanical P lanarization ) formulations for advanced semiconductor nodes and facilitate understanding of performance of formulations vs film properties . Your expertise in chemistry will be used to plan and design experiments to identify key components in slurry composition that could impact final polishing performance to meet customers’ needs. The scientist will also work with world class R&D teams across different sites through effective communication of ideas and results.

Requirements

  • MS/ Ph D in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, Physical chemistry and related field .
  • +2 years experience for PhD, +7 years experience for MS
  • Strong ability to design, execute experiments and interpret results to effectively communicate key findings that elucidate mechanisms or properties of individual components in the mix .
  • Participation in companywide & site-specific safety initiatives and a strong dedication to a safety-first culture
  • Experience working with films, inorganic or organometallic chemistry , additives , surfactants , or particles in a laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated independence in successfully completing assigned projects , either individually or in collaboration with internal/external research groups
  • Clear Communication and collaboration with different groups to achieve desired results
  • Data analysis for formulation improvement by statistical methods

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our formulation SME scientists , Cleanroom Engineers , A nalytical teams to develop innovative and robust CMP slurry formulation solutions for our customers.
  • Support new platform development through systematic studies such as structure-activity relationship study, hypothesis driven research and design of experiments, etc.
  • Work with R&D team to develop detailed mechanisms on interactions between different slurry components and impact on final polishing performance.
  • Apply safe work practices in labs and other test environments and actively participate in site wide safety initiatives to promote a safe workplace.
  • Design and execute CMP experiments at lab scale with coupons and with Cleanroom engineering team to v alidate slurry performance on full scale test & pattern wafers.
  • Analyze outcomes of experiments using advanced statistical tools and be able to use those results to logically plan future experiments.
  • Create technical presentations and present your findings within R&D teams and other internal stakeholders.
