ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide support internationally and within the INDOPACOM region to support effective and sustainable EPR regional engagement and country engagement planning. Provide support to other regions as directed/ as needed. Provide research and insights on international policy frameworks, initiatives, and technical developments relevant to radiological and nuclear EPR. Support proactive engagement to coordinate and drive programs on EPR-related functions within the office, broader DOE/NNSA, and with interagency partners, including those from the Department of State and the Department of War. Review the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) events calendar to identify and coordinate upcoming IAEA activities related to EPR. Maintain a strong relationship with the IAEA on EPR efforts at the action officer/ program staff level within the INDOPACOM region. Support U.S. national security and energy objectives by working collaboratively with international counterparts to support programmatic initiatives. Identify, clean, process and analyze international and domestic datasets to support rigorous data-based prioritization of engagements. Support briefings and product development at/for leadership levels including within NNSA as well as DOE/NNSA laboratories, interagency partners, and international organizations. Support negotiations between the U.S. Government (USG) and mission partner countries, to establish frameworks for cooperation, communication, and the potential development of MOU/As.
