About The Position

We are currently working with one of our local companies in Oahu who is looking for someone who wants to grow into a Database Administrator. The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing databases hosted on Azure SQL and Oracle platforms. This role focuses on database performance, reliability, security, and day‑to‑day operations. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience supporting production databases, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams. Requirements

At least 1 year of experience working in databases
Experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization
Hands‑on experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience using database monitoring and management tools
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences
Ability to go on site a couple days a week

Responsibilities

Support the availability and integrity of database systems
Perform routine database tasks such as backups, restores, patching, and updates
Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues
Assist with query analysis and performance tuning to improve efficiency
Help maintain database security by following best practices and internal policies
Create and maintain clear documentation for database procedures and standards
Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other team members
Stay current with new database technologies and industry best practices
Perform other related duties as assigned
